Sausalito Restaurants for an Elegant Night Out

Cozy up to fresh catch, lengthy wine lists, and exquisitely crafted sushi as you and your loved ones enjoy a refined setting with candlelight, attentive hospitality, and a memorable meal. Whether you’re looking for bayside fine dining or something a little more laid-back, consider booking a table at one of our top Sausalito restaurants for an elegant night out and allowing the city’s finest chefs to wow you. It doesn't have to be a special occasion to dine at one of these restaurants, but it doesn’t hurt.

Barrel House Tavern

Once home to the first ferry terminal to and from San Francisco, Barrel House Tavern broke ground in 2013 and redesigned the building as a contemporary eatery serving up delicious California-inspired cuisine. The Barrel House Tavern’s vibe is as rustic as its eats. Enjoy locally sourced seafood, seasonal cocktails, California craft beers, and an impressive local wine menu under their arched roof. Open Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. 660 Bridgeway

Scoma's

Floating out over the Bay, Scoma’s is housed in a late 19th century Victorian building and is listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings. The family-owned restaurant serves rich chowders, grilled fish, and their specialty Shellfish Sauté which is overflowing with crab legs, prawns, scallops, and clams. Scoma’s also breaks from tradition and offers exotic dishes like savory Coconut Curry Mussels. Open daily from 11:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. 588 Bridgeway

Sushi Ran

Named one of the 31 Best Sushi Restaurants in America by Thrillist, Sushi Ran’s accolades are without end. The upscale sushi eatery gets their fresh fish delivered daily from Tokyo and creates eclectic dishes that blend traditional Japanese and Pacific cuisine. Sushi Ran also offers flavorful vegetarian dishes, lamb and beef, and an unparalleled sake list. Dine at their large sushi counter and watch sushi chefs craft your culinary creation by hand. Open for lunch daily from 11:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Dinner is served Sunday - Thursday, 5 - 10 p.m. and Friday - Saturday, 5 - 11 p.m. 107 Caledonia St.

The Spinnaker

The Spinnaker is ideally located directly across the street from Casa Madrona, at the end of a jetty that opens up to panoramic Bay views. Floor to ceiling glass walls give you unobstructed views of the San Francisco skyline, Angel Island, Belvedere, Alcatraz, and the Bay Bridge in the distance. Established in the 60s, The Spinnaker presents American-Continental cuisine alongside their award-winning Wine Spectator wine list. Blending old world favorites with contemporary flavors, the restaurant’s seafood-centric menu shines, but their selection of meats and pasta options are legendary. Open daily from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. 100 Spinnaker Dr.

The Trident

Warm woodwork and arched windows greet you inside this 60s-inspired iconic eatery. Built over the water in 1898, The Trident is committed to offering sophisticated fare showcasing local, organic, and sustainably produced ingredients. Executive Chef Joseph Offner’s menu includes grilled steaks and a hearty seafood Cioppino, but also offers vegan options and lighter weekend brunch dishes like the Seafood Tostada. Open Monday - Friday 11:30 a.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday - Sunday, 10:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. 558 Bridgeway

Poggio Trattoria

Under the direction of Executive Chef Benjamin Balesteri, Poggio Trattoria brings authentic Northern Italian classics to Sausalito’s Bridgeway Promenade. Using fresh ingredients and herbs grown in Poggio’s garden, Balesteri operates under the philosophy that culinary art isn’t about manipulating food, it’s about bringing out the best of it’s natural components. Order the house-cured charcuterie, fresh pasta, wood-fired flatbreads, and grilled local catch. Poggio was recently named the Best Italian restaurant in 2019 by the Best of Marin County and made the Michelin Guide’s distinguished Bib Gourmand list. Make it a night in and order from Poggio with ease when you stay with Casa Madrona. We offer room service by Poggio Trattoria for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Open daily for breakfast, 6:30 - 11 a.m., lunch, 11:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., and dinner,  5:30 p.m. - 12 a.m. 777 Bridgeway
